Kantor, Tarasin, Stryjeńska at the art auction in Art in House

The best names of 20th and 21st century Polish art will appear in the upcoming catalog of Contemporary Classics at the Art in House Auction House: among them Kantor, Strumiłło, Niesiołowski, Pawlak and many more! Auction already on April 24 2020 at 19:30 in the Art in House Auction House (Al. Jerozolimskie 107, Warsaw). If you cannot take part in the auction in person, be with us by phone or online.

The works we have collected in the auction catalog are works of the Classics – on the one hand, artists functioning in the public consciousness as eminent Polish artists with an established position, on the other, artists referring to classical artistic forms. Among the first you will certainly recognize the mannerist figures of Tymon Niesiołowski, sketches of the nature of Leon Wyczółkowski, folk art deco motifs by Zofia Stryjeńska or drawings of lightly erotic Maja Berezowska.
The group of the post-war avant-garde is composed of Jan Tarasin with calligraphic symbols, Tadeusz Kantor and work in the style of informel, Włodzimierz Pawlak discussing with the present with the help of texture and color, Andrzej Strumiłło and meditations on Christian motifs or Andrzej Salaburski with early abstract work.

Classics known from previous Art in House catalogs are, in turn, those artists who have managed to develop a strong position on the Polish art market: Tomasz Kostecki, Krzysztof Ludwin, Aleksander Grzybek, Wacław Sporski and Eugeniusz Gerlach.

We have prepared 6 suggestions for sculpture lovers: three works by Igor Mitoraj, a figurine of Bolesław Biegas, a sorceress Tomasz Sętowski and an abstract act of Stanisław Wysocki.
