APPARENT GRAVITATION – Grzegorz Skrzypek’s exhibition at Art in House!

At the exhibition, which will start on Monday, April 26, 2021, at the headquarters of the Auction House and Art in House Art Gallery (Al. Jerozolimskie 107, Warsaw), we will see works by Grzegorz Skrzypek, created in years 2019-2021. The exhibition will be available to visitors until Thursday, May 6. Free entrance!

 

In his paintings Grzegorz Skrzypek shows his own and very unique world inhabited by magical, colorful equinoxes and gravitostworks. These creatures have extraordinary attributes: they can fly, run on clouds, and sometimes even hang happily upside down, dancing in the air. As the writer and art critic, Olgierd Dziechciarz, writes about the work of this painter, there is a method in this madness!

– The world of Skrzypek’s creatures is a world in which the artist tries to decide who will play the main role, and who will be only an ornament, a detail that may be beautiful, but not the most important. However, I get the impression that sometimes the creatures in his paintings – like wild horses – cannot be tamed. But it is never anarchy, but an almost fully democratic system – writes Dziechciarz.

In the work of Grzegorz Skrzypek, we see the joy of creating and the joy of being, as well as a large portion of a sense of humor. The world of horse creatures is very colorful, full of various elements from the real world, which are presented in an exceptionally magical way: the cook feeds the horses with a large ladle, flying over their heads, a collector of tenement houses talks to a flying gravity monster, and the distracted pumpkin looks uncertainly into the distance. In this land, if it rains, it is raisin, if there is any prospect, then chocolate, if the wind blows, it must be raspberry, and the trees are balloon or candy.

Skrzypek art gallery: a world full of sweets and vanilla ice cream

As Grzegorz Skrzypek says:

– Pictures are my fairy-tale, optimistic, cheerful world that I create, which I surround myself with and which I would like to share with people. The whole world for me is an apparent gravity, holding us firmly in our everyday real reality. Apparent, because a bit of sensitivity, color, movement, form and content can change the laws of physics and transfer into the world of balloon trees, raspberry kisses and fragrant poetry – says the artist.

 

 

Grzegorz Skrzypek is a painter living in Dąbrowa Górnicza, a colorist who has preserved in his work what is most beautiful in naive art, enriching his works with an excellent workshop developed during his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. Grzegorz Skrzypek’s painting attracts visitors with its beautiful colors, fairy-tale content, and humorous titles. These works lift the spirits and provoke a smile, so much needed by us now in more difficult times.

The exhibition “APPARENT GRAVITATION” will be available to visitors during the opening hours of the Art in House Auction House – that is, from Monday to Friday from 9:00 to 18:00. You’re welcome!
