Aleksandra Popławska

Aleksandra Popławska was born on 21 November 1988 in Częstochowa. Graduate of the W. S. Reymont Clothing Technical School in Częstochowa. Apart from working in the fashion industry as a clothing designer, she is involved in a creative activity. The main area of her interest is drawing and illustration. In her creations, she uses various techniques such as pencil, crayon and ink. The subject of the artworks are often realistically framed fragments of nature, which, when combined with unconventional compositions, evoke a fairy-tale and magical mood. She has been creating regularly since 2017. The main source of her work is a keen observation of the world and detailed photographic documentation . She also fulfils her broad interest in form construction in a sculpture which is, in a sense, a continuation and a new universe of illustrative reality. She draws her workshop inspirations from the achievements of such artists as J. Chełmoński, S. Wyspiański, J. Malczewski, J. M. Szancer, T. Jansson, T. Wolf, M.C. Escher.
