Anna Trochim

Anna Trochim was born in 1952. She studied art at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw; diploma with honors in the studio of prof. She obtained Stefan Gierowski in 1977 (annexes: wall painting under prof. Ryszard Wojciechowski and visual structures under prof. Roman Owidzki). She has had over 40 individual exhibitions in Poland and abroad, incl. at the Contemporary Art Gallery (Warsaw 1980 and 1984), at the Brzozowa Gallery (Warsaw 1984), at the Polish Institute in Stockholm (1986 and 1988), at the Center Gallery (Buenos Aires, 1988), at the Vilnius Art Museum (1989), at Galeria Avenue Foch (Paris, 1993), at the BWA Gallery in Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski (2000), at the DAP Gallery (Warsaw, 2000), at the Delfiny Gallery (Warsaw, 202 and 2004), at the Mazowieckie Voivodeship Office (Warsaw, 2013). She took part in many collective exhibitions, including: in Zachęta in Warsaw (1977), in Budapest (1985), Moscow (1987), Berlin (1990, 1993, 2011), at the Center for Contemporary Art in Warsaw (1991), Yvelines in France (1993), Buenos Aires (2006), In Darmstadt, Heidelberg and Paris (2010-2011), New York and Los Angeles (2011-2012) and in Qatar (2014). Winner of many awards, including at the Young Arts Festival of the Warsaw Environment (1979, 2nd prize), at the 2nd Autumn Art Salon (Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski, Talens Company Award, 2000, Grand Prix). She participated in the International Plein-Air for Artists Using the Language of Geometry. She was a co-founder of Galeria Delfiny in Powiśle in Warsaw and the Warsaw group "Via Varsovia". She was a co-organizer of many charity events, incl. auctions for the Oncological Hospice in Warsaw, nationwide auction "Żywioł" at the National Museum in Warsaw. The artist's works are in museums and private collections in Poland and abroad, incl. in the collection of the Queen of the Netherlands - Beatrix. The painting of Anna Trochim is situated in the circle of geometric abstraction, it is an original interpretation of light, matter and space. The lines running through the canvas, interpenetrating each other, of varying intensity, give the impression of movement and constant spinning, which is further emphasized by the pastel and tasteful colors of the paintings.
