Bogdan Markowski
Bogdan Markowski was born in Lublin in 1945. He graduated from the PWSSP in Gdańsk. He received his diploma in sculpture and sculptural-architectural design in 1970. He works with materials such as granite, marble, bronze, and wood. He is a laureate of awards and distinctions in competitions and exhibitions.
One of Bogdan Markowski's most famous works is the sculpture of a dog at the Market Square in Kazimierz Dolny. The artist is also the author of competition sculptures in Lubartów, Zamość, Roztocze National Park, Zwierzyniec, as well as in Burgas (Bulgaria), Debrecen (Hungary), Inami (Japan), and Viller Le Lac and Labresse (France).
Markowski's sculptures can be found in the collections of: the Polish Sculpture Center in Orońsko, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Łódź, the Polish Army Museum in Warsaw, the Copper Museum in Legnica, KUL in Lublin, and UMCS. The artist has dozens of group exhibitions to his credit and actively participates in plein air painting events.
