Bożena Wahl

Bożena Wahl was born on October 12, 1932 in Warsaw. She is a Polish painter and social activist. In 1957, she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, studied with Eugeniusz Eibisch. Her paintings have been presented at original exhibitions, incl. in Warsaw, Paris and Stockholm, they are also in the collection of the National Museum. Bożena Wahl designed the scenography for "Kabaret Starszych Panów" or the Television Theater, costumes for films such as "Cheap Money (1985)", "Christmas Tree of Fear (1982)", "Markheim (1971)". Renowned artists such as Zdzisław Beksiński and the owners of the best European and American art galleries admired her paintings. Bożena Wahl's sister - Alicja in 1979 founded the Art Gallery of Alicja and Bożena Wahl, located in a villa in Stary Żoliborz. The Art Gallery of Alicja and Bożena Wahl exhibited works by such famous and outstanding artists as Jan Lebenstein, Zdzisław Beksiński, Franciszek Starowieyski, Stanisław Witkiewicz "Witkacy", Bruno Schulz, Jacek Waltoś, Jerzy Stajuda, Jan Dobkowski, Barbara Jonscher, Jacek Sienicki, Teresa Pągowska and many others.
