Dorota Kuźnik

Dorota Kuźnik is a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts at the Faculty of Painting and Sculpture in Wrocław (Painting and Multimedia). In 2000, she also graduated from Philology in the field of Germanic Philology at the University of Wrocław, and in 2005, Postgraduate Studies at the Center for German and European Studies. Willy Brandt of the University of Wrocław. He mainly practices oil painting on canvas and wood.

The source of the artist's inspiration and fascination are the early and mature Renaissance, late Gothic, modernist art, and 16th-century art of Northern Europe. You can also see the influence of Dutch and Flemish painting in her works.

Through her paintings, the artist often enters into a dialogue based sometimes on a reflective and sometimes even witty concept or postmodern joke. REALITY and ABSTRACTION meet in her works as apparent poles. Her painting is not so much an attempt to reconcile these worlds, but to capture the moment when the boundary between them is blurred. According to the painter, abstraction and figuration do not have to be something antagonistic, but they can harmoniously coexist.
