Emilia Waszak
Graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, Emilia Waszak earned her diploma in printmaking with a specialization in lithography. She is a two-time recipient of the Minister of Science and Higher Education Scholarship for Outstanding Artistic Achievements and a three-time recipient of the Rector’s Scholarship at the university.
Emilia Waszak works in painting and printmaking, crafting fairy-tale-like, spiritual narratives inspired by Polish legends and folklore. Her works frequently feature motifs of animals such as fish, cats, dogs, and birds, alongside female figures and marionettes. Her artistic style is marked by series where water, fish, the moon, and cyclists play central roles. Through her art, Waszak reveals the magical essence of the world, enveloping the viewer in an atmosphere of spirituality and enchantment.
Waszak actively participates in exhibitions and competitions both domestically and internationally, gaining recognition at international art symposiums. Her works reflect a profound fascination with nature and symbolism, imbuing her creations with a unique and memorable character.
