DISPLAYS: Georges Spiro (born 1909 in Warsaw, died 1994 in Nice) is a French self-taught surrealist painter. He grew up in Vienna, and during World War II he and his entire family moved to France. His main source of income was manufacturing children toys. Apart from work he was practising an easel painting. He is considered as one of the most important post-war surrealists in Europe; many of his paintings are in museum and private collections around the world.
