Jacek Malicki
(born in 1946)
He studied at the University of Warsaw and the Academy of Catholic Theology in Warsaw, and in the 1980s he completed private studies at Henryk Stażewski's studio in Warsaw. In the 1970s, he was associated with Galeria Sigma, Repassage, Mospan, Pracownia Dziekanka and Galeria Dziekanka. At that time, he co-founded the formation that practiced intuitive music, Grupa W Skład. Malicki was a colorful figure of the pacifist counterculture movement in which he was called the Crocodile. He made performances on the basis of which his photographic works, including self-portraits, were created. He dealt with photography on a larger scale from 1976. He participated in some activities in the studio of the KwieKullik duo. In 1972 he participated in the First Cleaning of Art in Warsaw, a year later he took part in the 5th Biennale From Przestrzennych in Elbląg. In 1975 he created the first "mobile" objects-installations made of found materials. In the years 1988-1990 he worked at the Mała Galeria ZPAF in Warsaw. In the 1990s, he made a series of performances Reading Joyce. He lives and works in Podkowa Leśna.
