DISPLAYS: Janina Kraupe-Świderska is a painter born in 1921 in Sosnowiec, died in 2016 in Krakow. Just before the beggining of World War II, she started to study Painting at in the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow in the studio of Paweł Dadlez. In 1947 she completed her studies in Painting and Graphics in 1947 (although she completed all exams in the 1950s). A member of Grupa Krakowska and Grupa Oneiron in Katowice. Janina Kraupe-Świderska's work is inspired by the culture, religion and philosophy of the Far East, which is why many of her abstract works contain elements of astrology and magic.
