Janusz Gajowiecki
An artist who is particularly fascinated by dry pastels. He also creates oil paintings, prints and wood carvings, but pastels are his favourite means of expression. He creates works of mystical-symbolic charakter, where each element of the picture has its own symbolism, inscribing itself in the main message of the painting, as well as works created after numerous stays in France, where he tries to convey the beauty, charm and soul of the regions of that country.
During his studies at the secondary school in Piła, he met a well-known artist from Piła. Krystyna Noska, whit whom he took drawing and painting lessons. Then, he continued his education at the Faculty of Conservation and Museum Studies at the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń.
He continued to develop his artsitic knowledge and practical skills for many years, thanks to contacts whit artists in his home region and in France as well as his own research, leading to personal solutions in the use of dry pastels.
He participatend in group and individual exhibitions in his native region and exhibited his works in private galleries in France.
Since 2003, he has been a member of the Association of Artists of the Republic of Poland, while in 2020, he was admitted to the Association of French Pastelists.
