Kamila Matkowska

I was born on July 24, 1982. Artistic creativity has accompanied me since I can remember. Even as a small child, I made my parents palpitate my parents by painting wherever I could, on the walls, furniture and even in my older brother's books and school notebooks. When I was 14, it was time to choose high school, my only dream was to start my education in "college" in my hometown of Jarosław, but my parents did not like this option, so I chose "high school". However, my love for art did not leave me. after less than two years, I decided to take matters into my own hands and, without the knowledge of my parents, I met with the school's headmistress, prof. Barbara Gmitter - an excellent artist in the rest. After looking at my portfolio, she contacted my parents asking them to let me change schools. so it happened; I graduated from PLSP in Jarosław with honors in 2002. in the same year I started studies in art history at the Catholic University of Lublin in Lublin. in my works I often smuggle in the knowledge of iconography, I am fascinated by the symbolism of flowers and animals in various cultures and in the history of painting. at the moment I live and work in Belgium.
