Kate Hope
Katarzyna Chmiel, known under the pseudonym Kate Hope, was born in 1988 in Łódź, Poland. She graduated from the Lodz University of Technology, where she studied design. It was her long-standing experience with architectural and technical drawing that led her to break free from rigid frameworks and become independent in her creativity and artistic vision.
The artist draws inspiration from haute couture fashion, its refined aesthetics, captivating individuality, and elegance. She finds in fashion a precision, richness of textures, and unconventional color combinations, which she strives to translate onto her canvases. Daily experiences teach her to look deeper and shape her artistic expression.
The series Kate Hope named "Physical Form" serves as a symbol and metaphor of human strength and sensitivity. Each composition emerges from a process of transformation and discovery. She approaches her work as an open-ended project, a developing narrative, and aims for every new installment to bring a fresh perspective.
The artist builds visual stories through interweaving colors and shapes. Kate Hope's style is characterized by an expressionist approach to form and color, giving her works a unique and recognizable character.
