Krystian Wodniok

Krystian Wodniok was born in 1965 in Katowice. He mainly practices oil painting. His works are characterized by diversity and many styles. He paints portraits, landscapes, still lifes, genre scenes. He also makes copies of old and contemporary paintings, which are very popular in Poland and abroad. He willingly takes up religious, surreal and maritime themes, while portraits and Judaic themes are the particular directions of his work. He took up the subject of Judaism in the late 1980s, finding a particular liking for portraits and scenes from the life of Jews. The author's fascination with and respect for Jewish culture resulted in a rich collection of works. The painter largely owes his popularity to this subject. His works can be found in private collections in Germany, France, Switzerland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Italy (collections of the Vatican), Turkey, Israel, USA and Australia.

The artist is a member of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers - Polish Applied Arts. He runs a painting studio at the International Ecumenical Congress in Viviers (France) in 1991. In 1996, Pope John Paul II received the artist's painting in Rome. The artist also donates his paintings to various charity auctions, in Poland and abroad, including auctions in New York and London as part of the "Polish artists - for children" campaign for the Heart Foundation - European Center for Children's Friendship.
