Krzysztof Koniczek
Krzysztof Koniczek was born in 1955 in Olecko. He graduated from the State College of Fine Arts in Poznań, and defended his diploma in the studio of prof. Waldemar Świerzy. He had his first individual exhibition in the mid-1980s, and he took part in about 60 individual exhibitions and about 70 collective exhibitions, numerous art fairs and many art auctions.
Over the years, the artist has changed his painting style a lot. Koniczka's first works are surfaces that ostentatiously disregard the classic composition, with colors built on the clash of red and green or blue and orange.
The artist's later works are enriched with poster thinking, creating works of art that are more organized, less intuitive and spontaneous, but still very expressive through the use of appropriate contrast, tones, saturation, brightness or color temperature.
Most of Koniczek's canvases are abstract compositions - geometric shapes (geometric abstraction) often appear in his compositions. These are images pulsating with almost volcanic energy, and many of them are dominated by the color of flowing lava.
