Leszek Kuchniak
LESZEK KUCHNIAK- A graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, the sculpture department in 1971-1976, in the studio of prof. Jerzy Bandura, student of the Stage Design Study at the same university with prof. Andrzej Majewski. He practices sculpture (open-air and chamber), painting, drawing (also satirical). Author of stage designs in Rzeszów and Tarnów. His paintings and drawings adorned a number of books, volumes of poetry, and posters for cultural events (e.g. the annual Paniaga Festival in Rzeszów). So far, he has participated in about 120 collective and individual exhibitions in Poland and abroad, including In Limburg (Netherlands), Boca Raton and New Jersey (USA), Hamburg, New York, Levocy (Slovakia), Brussels, Lamia (Greece), Bohumin (Czech Republic), Alytus (Lithuania). Participant of painting and sculpting plein-airs in Poland and abroad. Winner of many prestigious awards and distinctions, including: Man of the Year 1995 according to the American Biographical Institute Inc. He was awarded the Order of Merit for Polish Culture of the Minister of Culture and Art in 2010 and the bronze Gloria Artis medal in 2015. The artist's works are in private and institutional collections (Poland, USA, France, Germany, Slovakia, Ukraine, Lithuania the Netherlands).
