Łukasz Ratajczyk
Born in 1989 in Gdansk. A young artist dealing with realistic landscape painting. He is fascinated by empty and forgotten places. Forgotten places where there is an atmosphere of waiting, even though nothing will happen there. The feeling of emptiness, peace and tranquility are the leitmotifs of his work. The main topic of the works is the broadly understood road. The paintings are inspired by both my own travels and American road movies. Paintings filled with colors take the viewer to the world of Thelma and Louise or Easy Rider, heroes traveling through the desert landscapes of the southern US states. His main painting inspiration is the work of Edward Hopper. In 2013, he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk in the studio of prof. M. Świeszewski. Exhibitions: "Sztukowisko" - Polish Theater, Szczecin, 2012 "Auction of young art" - DESA Unicum, Warsaw, 2012 "Hestia's artistic journey" - Final exhibition, Ergo Arena, Gdańsk, 2012 "Winter landscape of Elbląg" - Special award, Old Town Hall , Elbląg, 2012 "Student Exhibition", Science and Technology Park, Gdańsk, 2012 Cultural scholarship of the Mayor of Gdańsk, 2011 "Figurative Painting", ZPAP NOVA Gallery, Gdańsk, 2011 "Krzysztof Gliszczyński and students", PENTAGON Gallery, Radom, 2011 "All About Freedom Festival", Gdańsk, 2010 "Kamień", Teatr Wybrzeże, Gdańsk, 2009 "Ode to Youth", Galeria Mariacka, Gdańsk, 2007
