Marek Pękacz
He studied at the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning at the Wrocław University of Science and Technology. He says of himself that he is not yet an artist — for now, he is a painter. He doesn’t treat his paintings as art, but rather as buildings. They must be designed, ideally individualized, and above all, they must serve a specific purpose.
In commissioned works, after consulting with the client, he incorporates millimeter-sized signs, inscriptions, dates, or symbols into the painting — details only the owner can find and interpret.
In his paintings, the most important aspect is balance — between function, subject, and technique. This is a direct reference to his understanding of architecture as a combination of function, form, and structure.
