Marian Michalik
Marian Michalik was born in 1947 in Zabrze, died in 1997 in Częstochowa. He graduated from the Secondary School of Fine Arts in Częstochowa, then took up applied graphics, and later devoted himself to painting. In 1979 he became a member of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers.
In his paintings, Michalik refers to the style of Dutch masters, giving his still lifes (it was his favorite subject) the mood of magical realism.
The artist has participated many times in exhibitions in Poland and abroad, incl. in Monaco, Japan, Hungary and the USA. In 1987 he became a member of the European Academy of Art, Science and Literature in Paris.
The artist died in a car accident at the age of 50.
