Mirosław Szeib
Mirosław Szeib was born in 1963 in Międzyzdroje, lives in Świnoujście. He graduated from the Art High School in Szczecin. For many years, the author treated painting as a hobby and a great passion, only later it became a way of life.
In the 1990s, he became interested in maritime science. Naval battles began to arise.
Two paintings were created, each three meters long - "The Battle of Vyborg" and "The Battle of Copenhagen". Work on them lasted over a year. The first one found a buyer in Sweden, the second one in Denmark. The "Battle of Vyborg" is currently on deposit at the Maritime Museum in Karlskrona.
Later, atmospheric genre scenes began to be created. Many of them against the background of old cities from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Each of them is painted with great precision and attention to the appearance of the city in a given era. Most often, these are images of old Warsaw, Krakow and Gdańsk. A number of works on Judaic themes were also created - Jews in prayer robes, genre scenes from Krakow's Kazimierz and Jews counting money. These are time-consuming works and therefore the dimensions of the images are smaller. Most paintings from the genre scenes series have dimensions of 30 x 40 cm.
Most of the paintings are from private buyers in the country, a large part are in Germany, where marine art and seascapes from the island of Usedom are eagerly purchased.
