Monika Osiecka
Monika Osiecka is an artist born in Milan. She spent her youth in Italy and Iran. She studied Persian and Italian philology at the University of Warsaw and completed her studies at the Sculpture Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (under Kowalski's studio).
Osiecka primarily works in stone. She has participated in numerous international symposiums on stone sculpture. Her acclaimed book "Kawałki lustra" ("Pieces of Mirror"), published by SO/T, is a poetic and intimate record of her creative self-awareness.
Monika Osiecka is the author of the "Alas Pacis" monument in Montormel, France, created on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Normandy, as well as the Women of the Warsaw Uprising monument in the Old Town of Warsaw. Her sculpture adorns the grave of the Polish rock star Kora Jackowska, the vocalist of Maanam.
She regularly works in her studios in Warsaw and in Pomarance, Tuscany.
