Paweł Bienkiewicz
Paweł Bienkiewicz was born in Poland in 1962. He creates abstract works. These are analog paintings - painted on paper or canvas, as well as digital works. He is fascinated by all issues that define our existence in the universe, both material and mental. His works feature motifs of space, interdimensional transitions, waves, vibrations, transformation of energy and matter, contrast of light and shadow, tonal play of colors and symbols.
The momentary states of matter captured in this way become a photograph of what may escape our attention and will not happen again or lasts, still invisible but inherently true and real. The matter in his works is in constant motion, changing shapes, colors and shades. The images put the viewer in a new perspective of observing nature. where matter, space and energy are entangled and form one. Perhaps, looking at Paweł Bienkiewicz's works, we are inside the atom and see the invisible microworld of elementary particles, or it is also possible that we are in outer space and see vast areas of the universe.
In his digital works, he consistently develops his own technique, which he calls HYBRID PAINTING. In this technique, a painting is often created first on canvas. It constitutes a matrix for the further creative process, based on photographic collage and digital painting. The result is a digital work that is not a literal photograph of the matrix but a digitally modified alternative. In this way, the author wants to create a reference to the possibility of functioning of every aspect of our reality in other, parallel universes.
His masters are: H.R. Giger, Wojciech Fangor, Victor Vasarely, Zdzisław Beksiński. Paweł Bienkiewicz uses the pseudonym "pablo" in his works, wearing an elliptical logo.
