Piotr Butkiewicz

Piotr Butkiewicz completed his sculpture studies in the studio of Professor Leon Podsiadły at the Wrocław Academy of Fine Arts in 1991. He is best known as a painter, showcasing his works across almost all of Europe. Additionally, he is recognized as a sculptor, creating objects in the urban spaces of several European cities, as well as a designer and creator of furniture. He teaches sculpture and leads a woodcarving workshop at the Authorial Artistic and Academic High Schools (ALA) in Wrocław.

Despite their simple form, Piotr Butkiewicz's sculptures playfully and often surprisingly address important topics related to human relationships. The titles given to them are helpful in interpreting the works, although, as the artist admits, individual words can sometimes lead astray.
