Tamara Łempicka
Tamara Łempicka was born in 1898 in Warsaw and died in 1980 in Cuernavaca (Mexico). She spent her childhood in Warsaw, raised by her grandparents - Bernard and Klementyna Deklera - assimilated Jews, who led a rich social and artistic life. One of the most famous art deco painters in the world. She studied in Paris at the Academy Ranson under the supervision of M. Denis and A. Lothe. She quickly gained popularity as a portraitist, creator of nudes and still lifes. She exhibited her works in Poland and at the Parisian Salons. Her style is characterized by a post-cubist manner, vivid colors, and precision in detail. Tamara Łempicka's works gain the highest prices at foreign auctions among Polish art.
