Vasyl Netsko

Vasyl Netsko is an artist from Ukraine, born in 1977 in Biała Góra, near Lviv. He is a master of folk art, he graduated from the Ternopil Higher Vocational School of Technology and Design with a diploma (wood carving).

For 5 years he has been living in Gdańsk, he works with easel painting, sculpture and bas-relief on the wall. He took part in many collective and individual exhibitions in Ukraine and Poland. In 2014, he was the laureate of the 18th International Autumn Salon "High Castle" at the Palace of Arts in Lviv. He is a member of the Association of Artists "Przystanek Sztuka" in Straszyn. He won the title of "Personality of the Year 2019" in the Gdańsk District - a plebiscite organized by Dziennik Bałtycki.

He is inspired by the emotions related to everyday life, the surrounding nature, philosophy and culture of the East. In the works one can often find inspiration by Slavic culture and history.

Artist likes to travel, meet new people and folklore, which corresponds to the subject of his works.
