Wiktor Korecki

DISPLAYS: Wiktor Korecki was born in 1890 in Kamieniec Podolski, died in 1980 in Komorów near Warsaw. He studied at the Nikolai Murashka Drawing School in Kiev. In 1921, he moved to Warsaw, where he opened his own studio. It burned down during the Warsaw Uprising, and with it many of his works. In 1946 he moved to Komorów, from where he moved to Milanówek.
The subjects of his paintings were mainly romantic landscapes and landscapes of Masovia presented in different seasons of the year. His work was influenced by landscape paintings by Józef Chełmoński and Józef Rapacki.
