Wojtek Więckowski

Wojtek Więckowski is a painter, guitarist, multimedia artist, member of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers and the Association of Polish Artists of the Republic of Poland. Born in 1984 in Poznań. Currently, he creates and lives in Warsaw. He has already started his artistic education in the art kindergarten at CK Zamek in Poznań. He graduated from the State Secondary School of Fine Arts there with diplomas in art history and exhibition, and an annex in painting. He also completed an apprenticeship with the painter Tomasz Sętowski in Częstochowa. For years, he has been successfully combining concert and exhibition activities. In formal experiments, he looks for the relationship between the means of expression used both in creating music and working on a painting. The works are created on canvas as a result of combining many techniques of acrylic painting, as well as monotypes using printing ink. The solo concerts are accompanied by a multimedia projection based on paintings. In addition, he also performs with Warsaw Improvisers Orchersta, Jeff Gburk, Ray Dickaty and in a trio with Piotr Mełech and Filip Ramberg, as well as with Patryk Zakrocki and Piotr Dabrowski and other celebrities of the Polish and foreign improvised and intuitive music scene. He made his debut on the record market in 2007 with the publishing house "Slyde Guitar"; (MyMusic / Universal). In his game, he combines fascination with broadly understood American folk and the avant-garde of the 20th century, ambient and improvised music. He composes music for small film and theater forms, poetry slams, performances and radio plays. He lived and worked in Poland, the USA (Houston, TX), France (Avignon Off Festival, Paris), England (London), Australia (Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane) and Germany (Hamburg, Berlin). He collaborated with artists from various fields from around the world. Apart from exhibitions in galleries and music clubs, he ran his own galleries, both in Berlin (Neukoelln) and Poznań (Poznań City Center).
