Prelude. An Exhibition of Paintings by Cyprian Nocoń
The world of musical and painterly colors merges on the plane of expression, symbolism, and emotional experience. In Cyprian Nocoń’s paintings, one can sense a surge of uncontrolled emotions - spontaneous bursts of euphoric reaction embodied in untamed constellations of colorful patches. At times, they resemble gestural painting, yet the human figure remains a constant presence in all compositions. Nocoń’s works evoke auditory associations - sometimes dynamic and rich in instrumentation, at other times calm and monotone. His large-format canvases capture rhythm, dynamism, and vitality, serving - as the title suggests - only as a prelude to the artist’s rich body of work.
