The Fern Flower is a magic flower in Slavic and Baltic mythology. According to the myth, this flower blooms for a very short time on the eve of the Summer Solstice. It brings fortune to the person who finds it.
It is closely guarded by evil spirits, who are particularly active during the nights of Midsummer. In some tales, it allows humans to understand animal speech. It is said that the flower shines in the dark but can only be found on that particular night and is usually well-hidden in a secluded location within the forest.
