The hardships of motherhood, 2022

The artist in the painting "the hardships of motherhood" took up a very personal topic. For many women, it is a time full of anxiety, increased effort but also love. The symbolic representation of a woman as a mythical centaur is not accidental and is a purposeful procedure. Centaur in the heraldic sense is to symbolize the duality of nature - earthly (horse) and eternal (man). The ancient Greeks considered the Centaurs to be impetuous, angry and filled with revenge, but they were to show extraordinary courage and bravery. A woman-mother has many of these features. When her offspring is threatened, she becomes unpredictable in its nature. She can do impossible things in anger, love for her children knows no bounds. The human skull also has a symbolic expression. It is to remind you of the fragility of life, transience and death. The work is kept in blue - what is also not without significance - it symbolizes purity, creativity and inspiration. It is a time when women discover many talents and abilities that were previously dormant.
