Picture Stones 4 is a part of doctoral cycle named Stone as a symbol picture and the record of time which was realised in 2018.
Stone, as an object and metaphor, being a symbol of duration and eternity, and the personification of the eternal mystery in painterly deliberations, has become an exponent of the coherence of matter and spirit. As a tangible component of everyday life, a fragment of inanimate nature is an object of search, a relic of the past, a peculiar form of recording time and, above all, an inspiration to study painting and graphic values. Stones and the related ideas and processes depicted by the artist in dynamic compositions on the verge of abstraction, represent the universal mechanisms of nature, they are a specific model of the universe at the micro and macro level of the scale. Stones - "silent witnesses of passing" are the embodiment of strength, hardness, immutability, cohesiveness, longevity, vigor and inner harmony, while being in opposition a reflection of the negatively marked: insensitivity and deadness, silence, difficulties, sterility, death, pain. They have extreme, contrasting features and meanings. The idea of ??the coexistence of contradictions is also contained in the philosopher's stone, a legendary substance searched for centuries by alchemists, transforming base metals into noble ones, being the quintessence (fifth essence), i.e. the unity of the four elements, in theprocess of transmutation of the opus magnum. The transformation of what is worthless into what is noble - the theme of sublimation thus refers to finding timeless things in the ordinary, the sublime in nature, the sacred in the profane. This finding something extraordinary in the ordinary is the idea of ??art. The Alchemy of Art.
