Tardigrades are considered the most resistant to external conditions of the known organisms. In the state of anabiosis, they can survive at temperatures from almost absolute zero [6] to over 150 ° C, withstand 1000 times stronger ionizing radiation than any other animal [7], pressure of 6000 atmospheres, they can also survive over 100 years without water [8], and even in outer space [9] (their last trip into space took place on June 3, 2021 at 13:29 ET [10] - SpaceX launched 5,000 tardigrades at the International Space Station). These organisms are also able to withstand unusual salt concentrations [11]. The Kent team of scientists also identified their upper survival limit when shooting frozen tardigrades samples from a light gas gun into the sand. The impact velocity and the impact pressure at which they survive were measured. At an impact speed of 2,621 km / h (1,628 mph), 100 percent of tardigrades survived, while about 60 percent survived impacts up to 2,970 km / h (1,845 mph) [12].
