One of van Gogh’s paintings stolen in the Netherlands
While the whole world is struggling with the Covid-19 pandemic, some thieves use thieves on the occasion of global quarantine and closed stores and even museums and galleries. We wonder if the thieves knew that they were stealing a van Gogh picture on the anniversary of his birth …

“The garden at the presbytery in Nuenen in spring” – one of van Gogh’s painted paintings, was stolen from the museum.
One of Vincent Van Gogh’s paintings was stolen yesterday – “Parsonage Garden in Nuenen in spring” dating from 1884. It happened on the artist’s 167th birthday. One of the artist’s paintings was borrowed from the Groningen museum on the occasion of the exhibition “Mirror of the Soul”, which took place near Amsterdam since January. The exhibition was very popular and attracted up to 5,000 visitors every week.
The thieves broke into the Singer Laren Museum (this is a small museum located east of Amsterdam) in the middle of the night after three o’clock in the morning. They broke the glass door at the entrance, took one of the paintings by the famous artist, and then fled. All the action took place on the painter’s 167th birthday. By the time the police arrived, the thief or thieves were gone. Only broken glass and a blank wall were found.
The search for the lost work is underway.
