Agnieszka Janik
She was born in 1972 and her life path has led her through various paths. She completed her first studies in administration, but quickly realized that bureaucratic patterns were not in line with her nature. Her second studies were more creative, and she eventually graduated from Cultural Studies at AHE Łódź. She has been painting for a dozen or so years and it is in painting that she finds her true passion. The smell of oil paints, their incredible energy, accompany her in almost every moment of her life. Her paintings are a message of emotions and moods. She paints various subjects - from peaceful landscapes to completely different projects. She draws inspiration from cultural symbols and iconography, the tree of life, counterculture and pop culture. This is a broad field that allows her to express her thoughts on human culture and beliefs. Color is extremely important to her. She tries to smuggle as much of it into her works as possible. Yellows, oranges, all shades of blue, green and white - these are the colors she uses most often. Light and contrasts also play a key role. She is not afraid to overuse colours to emphasise what she wants to convey. Her paintings do not always reflect reality – very often she painterly falsifies it. About herself: "I want my works to speak to the imagination. The imagination of a child who creates while playing, the imagination of young people dreaming about the future, and the imagination of adults who sometimes need to escape from reality." She paints with oil paints, sometimes acrylic paints, on canvas stretched on wooden looms. For smaller works I also use boards. She has exhibited paintings at many charity auctions, especially those related to helping animals. She has also donated several works to the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity. Most of her paintings leave the studio. They find new places in private collections both in Poland and abroad.
