Danuta Tatar-Grzesiak

Danuta Tatar-Grzesiak was born in 1961 in Ziębice. In 1981 she graduated from the National High School of Visual Arts in Wrocław. In the years 1981-1986 she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. In 1985 she won the Władysław Strzemiński competition, receiving the award of the year in painting and drawing. Taking part in the opening of Polish National 5th Edition of @Diploma 86@, she graduated with honors in painting (studio of doc. J.Kudukis) and fashion design (studio of Prof. J. Finkstein). In 1987, she received a scholarship of the Ministry of Culture and Arts. The painter excels at oil painting and graphics. She can be recognized by diversity in her artistic work. After 2000, the artist set her main focus on surrealism. The autor releases new series of paintings that balance on the border of dream and reality. New paintings contain the atmosphere of mystery because of surprising collisions of objects from different worlds. The images evoke anxiety in the viewer and bring a nostalgic memory of things that are long forgotten. The artist presented her works at various individual and collective exhibitions in Poland and abroads. Exhibitions: 1985 – The Competition of Wł.
