Emil Goś
Born in 1986, Wrocław
A Graduate from the Painting and Sculpture Department at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw. He practices easel painting, mainly in oil and acrylic technique. He's interested in chiaroscuro: a subtle game between darkness and what is brought out of it through adequate lighting, bringing the dead matter to life. Chiaroscuro might the the reason for the biggest inspiration of Emil Goś, wchich are the artworks of Rembrandt van Rijn. Light and shadow are the artist's favourite tools to build a specific atmosphere in his paintings, which are linked to a steampunk style. Goś combines nature and mechanism, recalling steam and clock mechanisms from Belle Epoque. As a result of this, the mechanical fauna is created, which size corresponds to the real size of real creatures.
Emil Goś cooperates with modern art galleries, and his paintings can be admired in online galleries and at contemporary art auctions.
