Julia Tymańska
born On October 6, 1997 in Gdańsk. From June 2021, a graduate of the Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. In her artistic career, she has received several awards and scholarships, incl. the award of the Mayor of the City of Legnica and the Szum Magazine in the National Young Painting Review in Legnica, the Łaźnia Gdańsk Center for Contemporary Art Award in the National Painting Competition of Wojciech Fangor and at the International Student Drawing Exhibition # RYSOWAĆ. She was also a two-time laureate of the scholarship of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage for significant achievements. She has had many individual exhibitions, incl. a post-residency show at the Łaźnia Center for Contemporary Art, as well as collective shows, for example, at the Boomer Gallery in London. In addition to painting practice, he deals with the development of grass-roots initiatives in Gdańsk. In 2020, together with Sebastian Choromański, they created Galeria Pawlacz, a non-profit Contemporary Art Gallery, where they organize artistic events. They invite to cooperation, first of all, emerging young artists from all over Poland, as well as local, non-professional painters.
