Krzysztof Kołodziejski
Krzysztof Kołodziejski began his formation with architectural studies at the Warsaw University of Technology and the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de Grenoble and the Ecole d'Architecture de Bretagne in France. After years of work in architecture, he made a volte-face and started "from scratch" studying at the Sculpture Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He completed both his bachelor's and master's degrees with distinction and awards. He claims that there are no bridges between designing and sculpting, and any connection is a mere semblance, with the risk of tearing apart while standing simultaneously on both shores. He believes that this observation, if fully understood, is full of tragedy and gravity, yet symptomatic of our times. He sculpts figuratively; his sculptures are expressive, pulsating with energy beneath the surface, full-blooded. At first glance, it's clear "why" they were created.
