Magdalena Gintowt-Juchniewicz
Magdalena Gintowt-Juchniewicz
Born in 1976. Studied at the Faculty of European Graphic Arts, Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, which she graduated with distinction in 2000 in the atelier of prof. Ewa Walawska, also receiving a certificate in watercolour under prof. Stanisław Baj.
She works in intaglio techniques such as etching, aquatint, copperplate engraving and drypoint. She is also successful at inventing her own graphic techniques. In painting she favours watercolours and acrylics.
In Warsaw she headed up an atelier of graphics and painting at the Municipal Centre of Cultural Education and she taught fine arts at the “Nowolipki” Public Art Centre.
Her achievements include eight individual exhibitions, a few dozens of group exhibitions and several auction quotations. Her works can be found in several private collections in Poland and abroad. The most notable of her individual exhibitions was part of an international open-air cyanotype graphics convention in Kulturfabrik Fürstenwalde in Germany. One of her group displays was an international watercolour exhibition organised by the World Watercolor Painting Federation in Seoul.
Along with her graphics, her watercolours ventured into the world of poetry where they accompany the exquisite verses by Ernest Bryll in his book “Na dom pada cieniutki blask”.
