Marcin Myśliwiec is inspired by motifs derived from the Middle Ages, bestiaries, symbolism and melancholy are present in his works. Human figures with the heads of birds, which he calls Flightless Judges, are often motifs in his work, as well as devils and beasts straight from the medieval Last Judgment. One can also find references to the works of Francisco Goya and Hieronim Bosch. Piotr Woroniec is an important artist who influenced his sculpting technique and approach to wood. Marcin Myśliwiec sculpts using mainly a chainsaw and an ax, and thanks to these tools, aggressive textures are created, which in combination with contrasting details create an interesting combination. The perception of the whole is also influenced by polychrome and gilding, which evoke associations with sacred art.
