Michał Misiak
Born in 1973, in Tarnów. He studied at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. In 1999, he obtained his diploma with distinction in the painting studio of prof. Stanisław Rodziński with a graphic annex in the woodcut studio of prof. Zbigniew Lutomski. Currently, he runs the Studio of Spatial Activities and Color Structures at the Faculty of Interior Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. He works in the field of painting, drawing and digital animation. Scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland and winner of several awards and distinctions. He is the author of 27 individual exhibitions and a participant of over 130 collective exhibitions in Poland and abroad. In the years 2004 - 2018, he participated in open-air workshops of artists using the language of geometry by Dr. Bożena Kowalska. His works are in the collections of the Kulturhistorisches Museum Gorlitz (Germany), Museum Jerke in Recklinghausen (Germany), the Center of Polish Sculpture in Orońsko, the Masovian Center for Contemporary Art Elektrownia in Radom, the Museum of Jacek Malczewski in Radom, the International Print Triennial in Krakow, the Borderland Museum in Lubaczów, and in private collections in Poland, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Ukraine and the USA. Currently, he is the Head of the Department of Fine Arts.
