Piotr Towpik

Piotr Towpik has been interested in painting since childhood. In his early years, he tried to imitate the works of outstanding painters, which he looked through in catalogs and thematic books. Thinking about art more seriously, in later years he was looking for his own space and a way to materialize ideas inspired primarily by color (the favorite is red cadmium) and music. It is not consistent with the resulting image, however, the songs accompanying it during the work have a great impact on the creation process and the final appearance of the work (often the images are called the titles of the songs). His inspiration is mainly Italian painting from the 15th century to the present day. The materials and techniques he uses are based on the principles typical of the early twentieth century. The stretchers, canvases and grounds are prepared by the artist himself, according to the recipes of the old masters. He is interested in a man, mainly a woman - enigmatic, sensual, also having supernatural strength and powers. He is a graduate of the Institute of Fine Arts at the University of Zielona Góra.
