Ryszard Gieryszewski
Painter and graphic artist. Born in 1936 in Warsaw. In the years 1959-1964 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in the studio of A. Kobzdej and A. Rudziński. His work has been presented at over 30 individual and numerous group exhibitions in Poland and abroad. He is a laureate of many awards, including prizes and medals at the Festival of Fine Arts in Warsaw (1968, 1970), awards in the Best Graphics of the Year in Warsaw competitions (2nd prize in 1977 and 1978 and 1st prize in 1980), grand prix at the Quadriennial of Woodcut and Linocut in Olsztyn (1987 and 1992), grand prix at the 1st Biennial of Small Painting Forms in Toruń (1988). Since 1994, he has participated and received awards in the Warsaw Graphics competition. He is a member of the Xylon International Association of Woodcutters in Switzerland.
