Stanisław Baj
Stanisław Baj was born June 3, 1953 in Dołhobrody. In 1972-1978, the artist studied painting at the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts under the supervision of three professors: Ludwik Maciąg, Jacek Siennicki, and Michał Bylina. He received his diploma with distinction in 1978. At the moment he is a professor at the Painting Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw.
Baj deals mainly with easel painting and drawing. He is the creator of over ninety individual exhibitions in Poland and abroad. He also took part in over one hundred group exhibitions. His works can be found in the collections of Polish museums, museums, Polish private collections in the country and abroad.
At the beginning of his creative activities, Baj created genre scenes inspired by nature and village life. From the eighties of the last century, he has been mainly occupied by the Bug River landscape and portrait painting. His works have universal and symbolic features, especially numerous portraits of the mother and the bend of the wild Bug. Stanisław Baj's paintings are recognized and recognized in Poland and abroad.
