Wojciech Górecki

He is a graduate from the Faculty of Painting and Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk, where he studied in 1984–1989. His work includes outdoor painting, drawing and graphics. In 2009 and 2011, he got a prestigious distinction by the American institution The Art Renewal Center. The artist's works are part of public collections and the can be seen at art auctions. The artist lives near Gdańsk, where he looks for plein-airs for his landscapes.

Wojciech Górecki is far from favoring selected picturesque places in the country or abroad; the artist looks for ordinary locations, unnoticed by observers and depicts them in a poetic way. Landscapes are not idealized, but shown as something intriguing - each in it's own way. Górecki emphasizes the character of the place, but does not try to aesthetize it. He help us to notice the complexity of the landscape around us.
