The painting 'Beautiful Horizons' is an expression of my longing for the unspoilt beauty of nature, a longing that was born in the days of the pandemic, when, locked within four walls, we looked longingly out of our windows, looking out for better days. The landscape I have created is entirely imaginary, but alludes to the emotions and desires that were prevalent at the time.
The painting depicts a sunset scene over the floodplains. The unusual play of light and shadows creates an atmosphere full of peace and harmony. The colours that dominate this work are warm oranges and yellows, which symbolise hope and joy, transitioning into dark blues, bringing solace and peace.
The floodplains, which stretch all the way to the horizon, seem endless, reinforcing the impression of infinity and freedom. The sunset, captured at the moment of greatest intensity, is a reminder of the beauty and variability of nature that I missed so much during the long months spent in isolation.
"Beautiful Horizons" is not only an image of a landscape, but also an expression of inner experiences and dreams of returning to normality and enjoying the world around me. It is my artistic confession of longing for freedom, for moments spent in nature, which were a source of hope and inspiration for me in those difficult times.
