I was painting the “Ant” sitting in front of a beautiful lake in a wild forest. A project like this required me to focus on studying the ant’s body which was new to me. Still, it was also relaxing given the circumstances in which I painted one. The insects, their bodies, colors, and shapes have fascinated me for some time now, so this painting is the first in a series of insects that I’m going to paint yet.
