Emotions 1, 2009

"Emotions 1" is one of the three works that make up a large series of paintings entitled "Expression of a gesture". This series is devoted to the possibility of revealing the (meta) physical side of energy, using symbolic geometry combined with the expression of gesture in painting. An attempt has been made here to come closer to the sensual and mental nature of the soul. In art, I am interested in the sensuality of matter and variable optical effects. Light is an important element of my work because it gives rise to all forms. From it is born the color that enlivens the shape, the "soul" that defines the "body." The question of metaphysics in painting that I am discussing comes from the conviction that artistic activity is a constant process of mutual confrontation between man and the world. Therefore, I understand art as a phenomenon or another form. manifesting the same mental forces that co-create culture and the evolving world image.

The surface of the canvas has been covered with cracks, which are not a random element but an intended effect, achieved as a result of applying various strengths of binders. In the course of a dynamic creative process, in some places delicate cuts in the canvas were created in opposition to the static, referring to the original factors of being.
