Adam Swoboda
Adam Swoboda was born in 1956 in Węgorzewo. In 1982 he graduated from the Maritime University of Gdynia. In 1988, he received permission to practice as an artist at the Ministry of Culture and Art, and in 1990, he became a member of the Polish Applied Art Association. His works have been presented at many contemporary art auctions, in online galleries and stationary art galleries. Since 1987, he has participated in many individual and collective exhibitions in Poland and abroad. His works are in the collections of the Maritime Museum in Gdańsk and private collections in Poland and abroad.
In his painting, he explores the contrast between reality and imagination. He has always been interested in maritime themes, which is why he paints primarily in the convention of surrealism, which best reflects the atmosphere and specific poetics of the sea. Even though most of the images have little to do with the real world, they contain realistic details that are only legible to people interested in maritime topics.
